Julita Klavins

Lita is the Chairperson of the Continuous Improvement Lean Collaborative (CILC) and has played a pivotal role in its development and its annual Lean Systems Summit.

Prior to this, she was a Planning Coordinator with the Office of Continuous Quality Improvement with responsibility for leading a variety of quality improvement and data-related analysis projects and earlier, with the Office of Lean Management with responsibilities including design, development, and implementation of OLMS-BTC continuous improvement strategy, training, improvement projects, protocols, and materials.

Concurrently, she was an active member of the leadership team for the innovative, interdepartmental Maine Bend the Curve (BTC) continuous Improvement Lean program (2004-2013) and is a certified Continuous Improvement Practitioner.  The Bend the Curve program received recognition with a “Bright Idea” award from the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government Ash Institute’s Innovations in Government program.

Before moving to Maine, Lita served as the Administrator of the Washington, DC Child Protective Services Register, responsible for  analyses, reports, and studies of Division of Child Services policies, quality measures, data, incidents, etc., as well as interpreting statutory and regulatory material, and providing technical assistance and consultation.  She also had wide experience in integrated crisis services, special services, family services, etc.

Lita holds an M.S.W. from Howard University and a B.A. from Indiana University.
